Batman's job is to protect Gotham City from assorted villains, assisted by buddy Robin and his faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth. In his war on crime, he uses brains, brawn, science and technology. When Batman is needed, the Gotham City police shine a searchlight into the night sky with a bat-shaped insignia over the lens. This summons Batman from the depth of his Bat-cave.
