Pink Floyd began in 1965 in Cambridge. A music agent who was very much into the London Underground music scene spotted them in 1966 and within a year they were signed to EMI. Pink Floyd were part of the psychedelic rock movement. They combined surreal lyrics with classical and jazz music. When performing they would include flashing lights, movies and ‘freak out’ jams to captivate the audience. Pink Floyd’s most successful album ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ was voted the ‘Greatest Rock Album of All Time’ by UK’s Planet Rock radio station.
